Behind the Scenes of a Museum: The Transparent Museum (ab English B1 Stufe 4)
Online-Kurs
What happens behind the scenes of a museum? What are the professions connected to art? This course offers an in-depth look at the work of conservators, registrars, curators, and restorers, exploring how artworks are collected, studied, and presented to the public. Through examples from the Hamburger Kunsthalle and other artistic institutions, we will discover the restoration process, the importance of curatorial storytelling, and how artworks interact with each other in an exhibition. Using interactive tools, the museum becomes a “transparent stage,” where participants will explore the principles of authenticity, copy, and forgery, taking on the role of cultural detectives to unveil the secrets of art and its management.
